God has a plan for it all.
I heard this the other day, and it stuck with me. When we go through hard things, it’s so easy to ask, why would You allow this, God? You are in charge of every detail. You go before me and behind me. Why then would You allow awful things to happen? Where is the protection I prayed for, the healing I begged for, the miracle? Why the long trial?
When I really sit with this question, I go back to the truth laid out in His Word.
God is in control of every detail—but He also gave humans free will. Sin entered the world. Evil entered the world. What was once perfect became broken. And in a broken world, with evil present, hard and painful things are bound to happen.
Could God stop it all? Yes. He could wipe it all away and be done. But He is a loving God. A forgiving God. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son so that we could have eternal life with Him.
So maybe God “allows” hard things, not because it was ever His original intention, but because He has allowed free will to exist. Because love requires choice. Because we are given the decision—who will we follow?
God or the world?
Jeremiah 29:11 NLV says,
11 For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope.
His promises tell us that He has a plan for it all—the good, the bad, and even the unbearable. His Word says He works all things for the good of those who love Him. But if I’m being honest… sometimes that doesn’t feel like enough.
Because what if the “good” doesn’t come here on earth? And if you’re anything like me, that’s hard to accept. It doesn’t feel like an option at all.
“The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away” brings me comfort when I look at the blessing of my children… but the “takes away” part? That’s harder to hold onto.
So this is where I choose honesty with Him.
I speak His Word. I pray Psalm 91. I ask Him to cover my daughters with protection, to give them long lives, to bring healing, and to rescue us from trouble here on earth—not just in eternity.
And the beautiful thing is—He invites that.
God allows us to intercede. He is compassionate. He is merciful. He still performs miracles. He is the Alpha and the Omega, with authority over everything. Scripture shows us over and over again—He sees pain, and it moves His heart.
So in the waiting…
In the hard…
In the unknown…
We keep praying.
We keep trusting.
We keep inviting Him into the most vulnerable places of our lives.
Because even when we don’t understand the plan…
we know the One who holds it.
So today, I invite you—lean into Him.

“Give your way over to the Lord. Trust in Him also. And He will do it.”
Let His Word be where you run when life feels heavy.
Let His promises be louder than your fear.
Let His peace meet you right where you are.
If you’re in the middle of the waiting, the hurting, or the unknown—
open your Bible, speak His truth, and invite Him in.
He is near.
He is faithful.
And He is still working—even here.
