So often, I have wished God would speak directly to me — daily, hourly — especially when I feel like I desperately need Him.
I am always so grateful when a friend, an acquaintance, or a pastor reaches out because the Lord put a word on their heart that was meant for someone else in need.
We have been blessed when others have shared that they experienced a vision of Tylie being healed. Some of these people had never experienced anything like that before, yet they felt it so deeply they knew they had to share. The bravery in that alone does not go unnoticed.
A stranger in the Walmart aisle once said, “I know you, because I pray for your daughter. I have felt from the beginning she is going to be okay.”
That takes courage — to stop a mom you don’t know well, one who is visibly weary from walking a trial she never wanted, and give her hope.
It takes Jesus.
It takes faith.
It is how we show up for each other and become the hands and feet of Jesus.
I remember a day last spring while I was coaching. I don’t know why anxiety was hitting me so hard that day. I was walking in the outfield, picking up balls, praying quietly:
“God, please. I really need You to speak to me. I’m struggling.”
Within minutes, I received a message from an incredible woman — someone I barely knew.
She wrote,
“Listen to this song a few times until you know the words. Then get in your car the next time you’re driving alone and sing at the top of your lungs. HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME. And there is NEVER A MINUTE He is not with your precious daughter.”
That moment — that song — lifted my head above water when I felt like I was drowning in anxiety, fear, sadness, grief… all of it.
She didn’t have to message a stranger.
She didn’t have to speak Jesus to me.
But she did.
It was nearly a year ago, and I can still tell you exactly where I was standing in right field. I remember the relief. The reassurance. The confirmation once again — I am not fighting this alone.
Fast forward to this week.
I am consistently confident in His healing, His compassion, His mercy. But sometimes, I slip. I let worry take over. I let the fear of the future overwhelm me. I let something feeling “off” create a rollercoaster of emotions I have to battle through.
That same drowning feeling.
Like I am giving everything I have just to stay afloat.
I felt a panic attack coming on. I prayed. I cried out. And He answered.
Not through a booming voice.
Not through my best friend.
But through another mom. A believer. A doctor.
A woman who reached out once again when she didn’t have to.
Her message said,
“I don’t know if you’re going through something or just need encouragement, but God put you on my heart today, and I wanted to let you know I am praying for all of you.”
Once again, He answered.
A faithful believer listened. She sent a message she didn’t have to send. She spoke Jesus to me.
When I thanked her, she said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“God is rallying His angel army on your behalf and that of your precious family.”
If you know me, you know I persistently ask God to send His army of angels to fight for us and protect us.
I am so grateful that in a world full of chaos, I have people who love on us and speak Jesus to us when He calls them to.
Those moments may seem small.
But they can be life-changing to the person you are reaching.
Have you ever had a moment where someone reached out at the perfect time and you thought, that was God?
I pray that when you are feeling desperate — when you need His help — you ask Him.
Psalm 34:17 (NIV):
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”
Mark 11:24 (NIV):
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
As you walk through your day, know this:
You are never alone.
He is always near.
Never stop praying.
Stand firm in your faith.
And if you are the one God speaks to on someone else’s behalf, don’t be afraid to be His hands and feet here on earth. Speaking His words to someone in need may mean more than you could ever imagine.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV):
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
